From my very early childhood memories to present art has always been there for me, like a lifelong companion. Sometimes, it has been the focus of my life and sometimes my life has been the focus of my art. Sometimes I squabble with it, but usually it is a good and satisfying relationship. My art relationship is made up of many components. It takes the form of the art I make, the art I appreciate and study, the students I teach, my teachers and the people I interact with everyday. All of this makes up art for me.

My personal work is divided between the making of art and the study of it. Personal goals have led me to continue studies in art history. Papers and research fill my time of late. Painting remains my best therapy for sanity. I expect that as I go through life my relationship with art will continue to evolve, just as it always has. It will remain a source of renewal and my voice. I think that maybe the reason this is so is because it comes from God. My goals are to continue to develop that voice and to help others develop theirs.
