The Layerist Approach to Narrative

This project is designed to get you to explore the possiblities of blending images, texture, text and subtext to tell a story. The story can be a simple idea told through the use of synthesis, and juxaposition (nonlinear), or it might be a series of images with some of these same elements.

You will use Photoshop as you paint brush and canvas -- to put it all together.

Your goal is to create
• a layered piece of art
• that tells a story in linear or nonlinear way, or conveys a strong central idea
• that also takes advantage of the tools ability to layer images and other elements, and includes SUBTEXT.

The format of the piece must be at least 24 inches in one of its dimensions. It will be a printed piece, and therefore should be saved in CMYK.
